Hello everyone! My name is Lambros, living in Sweden the past 20 years. Through this blog, I’ll try to “travel around the world” with relatively easy recipes, both concerning time needed to prepare and ingredients. I don’t want to prepare a meal after coming home from work that needs 3 weeks to prepare and ingredients such as crocodile tongue or panda tears or a specific type of edelweiss flower that blooms every 7 years.I’ve made a list with all the internationally recognised countries of the world, then added semi-autonomus areas and then added partially recognised or unrecognised areas/countries. Yes, I added entities such as “Transnistria” or “Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus”. THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT! I just want to try different recipes from different groups of people. I didn’t include entities that were dissolved historically: the Ottoman empire, the Akkadian empire or the kingdom of the Lombards are not included, but that might be an idea for another blog! Entities that were dissolved quite recently might have been included, for example “Republic of Artsakh” (Nagorno-Karabakh). I’m even trying to include dishes from different distinct areas, for example Dari or Pashtu from Afghanistan, an extra recipe from Tierra del Fuego when I’m covering Argentina, and so on.I can’t make any promises, but I’ll try to post a recipe or two each week. Leave a comment or your own photo of a dish you tried making or even if you think that I missed an important culinary area within a country. Do not leave a comment if it’s about politics: “Gaza is not a country niah niah niah”. People live there and they eat, that’s the whole point! One last disclaimer for now: This is not Holy Scripture! The recipes I present here are recipes I’ve found and adopted so that I can cook at home after work. If you need basil in a dish and not thyme that I added, does not constitute a crime! Now, let’s get to cooking!
